Agios Nektarios Church in Aegina
Aegina is a wonderful island filled with many interesting places and a wide selection of sites to see. The church of Agios Nektarios ( Saint Nektarios ) is one of the most visited sites on Aegina, as is the beautiful monastery of Agia Triada (The Holy Trinity) which is located next to the church.
Every month, thousands of people pay a visit to this very impressive church, and visit the tomb of Agios Nektarios. The 9th November is the nameday of Nektarios, and this is celebrated with a large festival to which everyone is invited.
During the nameday celebrations, there are services in the church, followed by a very special procession that takes place in the morning, during which the remains of Agios Nektarios are carried around through the streets of Aegina Town.

It is very easy to reach the church, which is located in the area of Kondos, which is located approximately 6km from Aegina Town and Agia Marina - where the Oasis Hotel is located. The church of Agios Nektarios and the Monastery of Agia Triada are open daily, and entry is free of charge. Visitors are required to have their arms and legs covered when entering the church and monastery.
